This powerful moon blows in to bring our attention back to what is now a familiar theme: The longing to break free of established patterns versus the need for things to stay the same.
With old structures crumbling around us and within ourselves, this is the universe’s call to release self-imposed limitations and embody the wholeness of who we are.
Over the past year I’ve been writing poems in a lyrical style, which have helped me process and heal. At some point on this quite surprising journey, I realized that the purpose of this rhyming prose is to soothe my inner child.
Because change can be scary.
We often forget that when we decide to make changes or when they’re forced upon us, we still have that little child in our hearts who may be afraid to take steps forward. Who fears that their needs won’t be heard.
The moon’s monthly journey is our collective compass for answering that emotional call. Its fluctuating energies show us what parts of ourselves may need extra care and tending.
There is a renewed sense of purpose during this future-oriented Aquarian moon cycle – and it may be that things require some shaking up to move forward.
With Venus now direct, Mars in its favorite sign of Capricorn and Mercury out of retrograde by the end of this week, it really feels like all systems go for the first time in a long time.
Yet, our inner kids may not be quite ready to charge ahead.
They need to feel a sense of structure – to feel safe and loved.
This moon’s energy carries a lot of momentum for new beginnings, especially as it relates to how we think and view our place the world.
But only by recognizing all parts of our multifaceted selves, can we truly break free of old ways of being.
So this moon cycle, I invite you to attend to the needs of your inner child. To make sure they’re on board with your intentions and have their seatbelt fastened for the ride.
You can do this by displaying a photo of your young self, maybe even choosing a particularly sensitive age that you remember.
(I just want to give the above awkward pre-teen a hug!)
Speak to them in a loving, comforting tone each day. Ask what makes them feel safe. Offer to be their Valentine.
Let their needs be heard so your ideas and actions can align with your heart, and you feel supported to make changes that serve your soul.
New moon blessings and love to you. XO
